Bolesławiec police received a report concerning irregularities in the operation of one of the ATMs. After inspection, it turned out that the machine had been modified to block the collection of cash. And in the victim’s account... a cash withdrawal had been recorded.
The vigilance and immediate response of a Bolesławiec resident prevented him from becoming a victim of fraudsters.
Police advise:
If, during a withdrawal at an ATM, a message appears saying that the cash should be collected, but the money is not dispensed by the machine, you should contact the call center (the telephone number is always displayed on the ATM) to immediately determine whether a withdrawal has been made from your account.
If a withdrawal has been posted but we have not received the cash, it should be assumed that the ATM has been modified for criminal purposes. Notify the police of the situation.
