On Monday, March 25, firefighters from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec took part in allied exercises involving vehicles of the Polish Armed Forces and the US Army.
The main task of our firefighters was to tow a theoretically damaged heavy US military vehicle and attempt to lift a self-propelled wheeled howitzer.
Equipped with specialist technical rescue equipment mounted on a Scania MEGA CITY chassis, the firefighters used an omars to lift the heavy US military vehicle and safely tow it to the designated location.
During the attempt to lift the howitzer, two HP25/T185R hydraulic jacks were used, and they handled the task without difficulty.
Thanks to Monday’s exercises, the firefighters from Bolesławiec improved their knowledge of how to respond to accidents involving heavy military vehicles.
