The incident occurred on Sunday, March 10, after 11:00 a.m., at one of the petrol stations in Bolesławiec. In an email to the editorial office, a Reader wrote:

An employee of the petrol station on Wesoła Street noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from one of the customers.

The man prevented the Hyundai driver, a 71-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, from driving any further and notified the police.

When the officers arrived at the scene, it turned out that the driver had got behind the wheel with 0.6 parts per mille of alcohol in his system.

The 71-year-old was detained. He now faces up to two years in prison.
