Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec identified the man who, in February, failed to stop for a traffic check and fled from the patrol.

Unable to drive the car any farther, the driver fled on foot, leaving his friend in the vehicle. The passenger was detained by the officers because he was a wanted person—he was due to serve a prison sentence. (What is more, the officers secured drugs in the car).

Hiding from the officers proved futile. The driver—a 23-year-old resident of Żary County—was detained in cooperation with the Lubusz police.

The suspect explained that he had fled because he did not want his passenger to go to prison.

The 23-year-old, who had already been convicted, will now answer for his actions before the court. He faces up to five years in prison.
