- drive at a speed that allows you to stop in a safe place when a rail vehicle is approaching or when a safety device or signal prohibits entering the crossing
- if a vehicle becomes immobilized at a railway crossing, remove it from the crossing immediately, and if this is not possible, warn the driver of the rail vehicle about the danger.
What Is Prohibited?
- driving around lowered barriers or half-barriers, and driving or walking onto the crossing when they have begun to descend or have not finished rising
- entering the crossing when there is no room on the other side to continue driving
- overtaking a vehicle at a railway crossing or immediately before it
- passing a vehicle waiting for traffic through the crossing to reopen if this would require entering the part of the road intended for traffic in the opposite direction.
