Neighbors notified the police dispatcher about a domestic disturbance in one of the housing estates in Lubin. It was 10:45 p.m.

On the stairwell, officers found the reporting neighbor holding a frightened three-month-old child in her arms. She told the police that she had been looking after the infant while her two neighbors were wrestling and hurling insults at each other.

The two women turned out to be a 19-year-old woman, the infant’s mother, and its 47-year-old grandmother. The apartment was untidy, and in the presence of the officers, the mother and daughter argued, using profane language. (The dispute concerned inadequate care of the child.)

Both women smelled of alcohol. It emerged that they were both completely drunk. The grandmother had more than 2‰, while the mother had 1.9‰.

The teenager was detained and taken to a police cell. She has already been charged with two offenses: exposing her minor daughter to the immediate danger of loss of life or serious harm to health, and causing bodily injury to her mother.

The young woman could face up to five years in prison.
