Jeleniogórscy police officers detained a 58-year-old resident of Żary suspected of driving a car while intoxicated and attempting to bribe on-duty officers.
The arrest took place on March 3 in Sosnówka. The officers noticed a Renault driving erratically. The way the Renault was being driven indicated that its driver might be under the influence of alcohol.
A 58-year-old resident of Żary was behind the wheel. The officers detected a strong smell of alcohol from him. The test showed 2 per mille.
The man offered the police officers PLN 570, and after withdrawing money from his account, even PLN 2,000 each!, in exchange for discontinuing their official duties.
The result? The 58-year-old was taken into police custody. He could now face up to 10 years behind bars.
