The incident occurred after 5:00 p.m. in Bolesławiec, on Murarska Street. A young man fainted in the bathroom. Firefighters who arrived at the scene evacuated three people in total: the injured man and two women who were with him in the apartment. The carbon monoxide concentration in the bathroom was 360 ppm, and 160 ppm in the other rooms.

The firefighters ventilated the rooms. The gas emergency service and the property manager were called to the scene.

One of the women was taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec. The young man was taken by an Air Ambulance Service helicopter. He was transported to a hospital in Zielona Góra equipped with a hyperbaric chamber.
