On Tuesday, August 4, at around 3:00 p.m., firefighters were called to one of the buildings on Starzyńskiego Street in Bolesławiec after a carbon monoxide detector was activated in an apartment.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the danger. Carbon monoxide was detected not only in the apartment from which the report was made, but also in a second apartment.
Both apartments were ventilated. According to preliminary findings, one of the gas heaters may have been the source of the danger, and carbon monoxide also entered the neighboring apartment through the ventilation system. It is also possible that the high temperatures and the prevailing weather conditions contributed to the situation.

Fortunately, no one was injured. The residents heard the detector's alarm after entering the apartment and immediately notified the emergency services.
Firefighters' operations are still ongoing.
Firefighters once again remind the public that carbon monoxide detectors are one of the most effective ways to detect a danger early. In this case, it was the device's alarm that enabled a rapid response and the incident to end without anyone being injured.
