The ToTeraz website published a moving video on its fan page in which Franciszek Kułacz talks about his life and work. Poland’s oldest practicing barber ran his shop in Wrocław for 70 years. He grew fond of his customers and treated them like family. He would have continued working, but the rent for the premises is currently too high for him. The film shows that Franciszek Kułacz loves what he does and is sadly ending his practice. As a child, he was deported with his family to Siberia in a cattle car. After the war, he came to Wrocław from Ukraine.

Franciszek has one great dream: he would like to receive a letter from a Siberian exile. And we can make Franciszek’s dream come true. Siberian exiles are very active in Bolesławiec. Municipal Middle School No. 2 (now being closed) was named after Poles Deported to Siberia. In 2015, representatives of 43 institutions from across Poland came to Bolesławiec and Lwówek Śląski for the 5th Congress of Directors of Schools and Institutions and Presidents of Associations bearing names commemorating those Deported to Siberia. Franciszek may receive many letters.
