On Friday, 1 May, “Run with Europe,” organized by the District Council of the Democratic Left Alliance, was held in Bolesławiec. The event attracted considerable interest from residents of our town and district. More than 140 people took part in the competition.
The competition was opened by Stanisław Chwojnicki, chair of the District Council of the Democratic Left Alliance: – Over the past five years, Poland has gained a great deal. Thanks to integration with the EU, we have increasingly better roads, and education is also developing.
“As we celebrate 1 May, and thus the anniversary of Poland joining the European Union structures, let us not forget that the SLD is the party that finalized negotiations with partners in Europe and that, among other things, thanks to us, Poles can enjoy open borders and EU funds,” added Paweł Zieliński, assistant to Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg.
The organizers sponsored attractive prizes: three trips to Brussels, language courses, backpacks, watches and ceramic products.
The trip to Brussels sponsored by MEP Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg was won by Alicja Kaczmarska, while language-course prizes went to Daria Kłosowska and Michał Stańczyszyn.
Also going to Brussels are Alicja Michalska and Patryk Kubik. The trip was sponsored by Sergiusz Najar.
The winners received cups, while the participants in the run received European Union-themed gadgets and certificates. “Run with Europe” was held under the patronage of Deputy Marshal of the Sejm Jerzy Szmajdziński.
