The main aim of the activities was to ensure the safety of everyone travelling on the roads of our voivodeship.
During the holidays, Lower Silesian police officers inspected more than 250 coaches. In 24 cases, officers, bearing the children’s safety in mind, decided to seize the registration certificates. Fortunately, all drivers were sober.
Alongside the activities on the roads, preventive activities were also carried out. During meetings with children and young people, officers discussed safety during the winter break and safe road use.
The officers reminded them of the basic rules, including those concerning the use of reflective elements in a way that makes them visible to other road users.
The holidays for children and young people from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship passed safely.
During the holidays, police officers recorded fewer accidents on the roads—49 (67 in 2018); fewer people were also injured: 3 died (5 in 2018), and 56 were injured (77 in 2018).
Unfortunately, the number of detained drunk drivers increased (229; 200 in 2018).
