A reader who lives in another province called us. He had come to Bolesławiec with his wife to go shopping. The couple rented an apartment in the city center.

During the night of February 6–7, the couple heard male voices and a dog whimpering through the wall. A party was probably taking place in the neighboring apartment, and someone was allegedly abusing the dog. As our reader recounts, a man was throwing the animal around the entire apartment, making the walls shake. The dog was literally moaning in pain.

When the reader’s wife knocked on the door of the apartment in question, she heard someone maliciously throw the dog against the door.

The couple notified the police. A patrol arrived at the scene, but when the apartment’s occupant did not open the door to the officers, they did not even try to break it down. This shocked both people who had reported the incident.

As we heard from the press officer, the police did not confirm the report because when they arrived, it was already quiet and there were no grounds for forcibly entering the apartment.

The reporting party’s wife filed a report at the Bolesławiec police station. The officers are investigating the case. If it turns out that the occupant is abusing his pet, he could face up to five years in prison.

We will return to the subject.
