What is happening with the active pedestrian crossing on Tysiąclecia Avenue? It has been damaged for a very long time, and is nobody really interested in doing anything about it???
We asked the spokesperson for Bolesławiec City Hall about the matter. Agnieszka Gergont:
At the end of December last year, a drunk woman drove her car into a traffic-signal pole and demolished a road sign fitted with motion sensors for the crossing.
And she adds:
Immediately after the incident, the damage was reported to the manufacturer of the signal equipment, which undertook to repair it by 8 February 2019.
Let us recall. In December, we reported that a woman, a 46-year-old resident of Bolesławiec, was driving a Ford out from beside one of the blocks. She hit one vehicle and almost struck another. She wanted to flee and demolished the traffic lights at the pedestrian crossing.
The drivers of the vehicles mentioned above caught up with the woman and wanted to stop her. She drove back to the block to escape. Police officers called to the scene arrested her.
The woman was aggressive, insulted the officers and struggled with them. The police used force, but it was clear that they treated the woman very carefully.
