At the beginning of 2018, a she-wolf was found near one of the national roads running through the Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec area. The animal was hit by a car and, unfortunately, did not survive the accident. The wolf was approximately two years old.
The Bolesławiec forest district manager decided to have her mounted and keep her in the forest district’s collection as a specimen intended primarily for educational purposes, says Maciej Krzak from Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec. This required obtaining permission from the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection. For several days now, Wadera has been at the Nadleśnictwo headquarters. The specimen looks very realistic and commands respect.
