The incident occurred on Thursday, January 17, in the afternoon, at one of the hotels in Bolesławiec County. One of the establishment’s guests started a disturbance and set fire to items of room furnishings.

The emergency services were called to the scene. Police officers arrived first, forcibly entered the room of the 27-year-old resident of Złotoryja County and extinguished the fire, relieving our firefighters of the task.

What is more, it emerged that the man was carrying more than 20 doses of narcotics—marijuana and methamphetamine, commonly known as “piko.”

The 27-year-old was detained. He could face up to three years behind bars.

The County Headquarters of the State Fire Service will ask the head of the County Police Headquarters to commend the officers who extinguished the hotel fire.
