On Saturday, 25 April, a seminar entitled "European Funds for Non-Governmental Organisations" was held at the Centre for Supporting Entrepreneurship on al. Wojska Polskiego. The training was led by Jerzy Baniak from the European Institute of Education and Social Communication. The trainer conveyed the information in an expressive and at times humorous manner.
During the training, the individual European funds for 2007–2013 were discussed. Seminar participants learned about the conditions for obtaining money for a specific purpose. Several dozen people from Bolesławiec, Lubań, Lwówek and Zgorzelec counties took part in the training, representing, among others, the Society for Universal Knowledge, the Society of the Friends of Children, the All-Poland Alliance of Trade Unions, the Association of the Unemployed, and the Association of Pensioners and Retirees.
The training was prepared and conducted by the European Institute of Education and Social Communication in cooperation with Bolesławiec Deputy County Head Stanisław Chwojnicki, Mayor Piotr Roman and Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg’s assistant, Paweł Zieliński.
Saturday’s training was held under the patronage of Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg. The MEP herself also attended the meeting. Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg gave all the training participants European scarves bearing the logo of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament. At the end of her visit to Bolesławiec, the MEP met with allotment holders from the Tulipan allotment gardens. The allotment holders also received gifts in the form of European scarves.
