The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 16, in the afternoon, in Nowogrodziec.

The firefighters from OSP Nowogrodziec – Osiedle reported the incident:

Thanks to the quick reaction of residents, we carried out a citizen’s arrest of two perpetrators.

The commander of OSP Nowogrodziec Piotr Nieradka received a call saying that two men—using professional and expensive equipment—were cutting up a mast that the firefighters had received from the power company and on which an alarm siren was to be installed. (Its value was PLN 2,000).

The head of OSP Nowogrodziec – Osiedle went to the scene. He switched off the engine of the van in which the thieves had arrived and took their keys.

The police were notified. Six firefighters guarded the suspects to prevent them from escaping. The latter were so brazen that they threatened the firefighters, saying they would report the officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters for... stealing the keys.

It did them little good. The suspects—a 30-year-old from Bolesławiec and a 24-year-old from Lubań County—were detained by police. They may now face up to five years behind bars.

Bravo to the firefighters!

We will add just one thing: what kind of lowlife do you have to be to rob firefighters?

(After being shortened, the mast will still be fit for use).
