Between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., traffic police officers will carry out intensified operations under the code name “SMOG”. The campaign is nationwide.

The aim of the campaign is to remove vehicles from traffic when violations of environmental protection requirements are found, primarily in cases of excessive smoke emissions.

The operations are also educational in nature. Transport, especially in large cities, contributes to poorer air quality. Police officers will remind drivers that smog, which affects everyone, is also “thanks to” technically defective vehicles emitting excessively toxic exhaust fumes.
