Jan Bortkiewicz was born in Vilnius. He graduated from the Higher School of Photography. He lectured at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Among other places, he worked at Studio 4 Iserlohn and Janus Screen Studio New York.
The artist is the author of several dozen posters, album covers and advertising catalogues, a co-creator of film and television set designs, an editor of books and an organiser of symposia. His works can be found in museums around the world.
The works presented in Bolesławiec are the result of a month-long journey through Argentina, during which the artist sought to create an image of this beautiful country, as well as the places where Witold Gombrowicz lived and worked for 25 years.
The exhibition is open until the end of December.
