The incident occurred on December 22 on Jedności Narodowej Street in Szklarska Poręba (National Road No. 3).
For reasons yet to be determined, a 79-year-old driver of a Jeep lost control of the vehicle, veered onto the shoulder and hit a building. The driver died at the scene.
The police and prosecutor’s office are currently investigating the causes and circumstances of this tragic incident in detail.
Police:
We appeal for common sense on the road. Let us maintain safe distances between vehicles, because rear-ending another car is a frequent cause of road incidents.
They add:
Recklessness, excessive speed and alcohol are the most common causes of collisions and accidents. Sometimes just a few seconds determine whether a person lives or dies, or suffers injury.
