Reader wrote to us about rubbish on Partyzantów Avenue in Bolesławiec, right by the church:

[…] a huge mess for more than two weeks now. There are no recycling bins…

They added:

The rubbish is collected once every two weeks; two buildings share one bin enclosure.

We reported the matter. The administrator, the Bolesławiec-based TBS company, is to investigate our report.

As for containers for separated waste, we were told at City Hall that it would be impossible to have them outside every house. In the City of Ceramics, there are 195 such collection points, and most residents of Bolesławiec have to walk a few steps to dispose of plastic, metal, paper or glass waste.

Let us remind you. We recently reported on the mess near Dzieci Wrześni Street and in the Market Square. Władysław Bakalarz, president of the Municipal Public Utilities Company, explained to us at the time:

Responsibility for order in and around bin enclosures lies with the administrators of the housing associations whose residents use those enclosures. As part of managing the associations, they should ensure that these places are kept clean.

And he stressed:

The company collects waste stored in containers in accordance with the signed agreement. MZGK ensures that the area is clean when the containers are emptied and clears away waste that might fall out during loading into the rubbish truck.

What should you do if there are too few containers?

W. Bakalarz:

Whenever the administrator reports that a housing association is generating a larger amount of waste, the company adds more containers at the administrator’s request.

What do you think?
