Road traffic police officers are conducting intensified operations today, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., throughout Bolesławiec County under the code name “SMOG”. The operation is nationwide.
Police:
The aim of the operation is to remove vehicles from traffic when violations of environmental protection requirements are identified, particularly excessive smoke emissions.
The officers add:
The operation is also educational in nature. Transport, particularly in large cities, contributes to deteriorating air quality. Police officers will remind drivers that the smog taking its toll is also “thanks” to technically defective vehicles emitting excessively toxic exhaust fumes.
