As it turns out, the presence of a municipal police officer often triggers a nervous search for a bag, tissue or anything else that can be used to clean up dog mess. This shows awareness of the obligation placed on the owner of a dog.
Straż Miejska w Bolesławcu:
We remind all dog owners of the applicable regulations requiring them to clean up after their pets. This follows unequivocally from Resolution No. XL/399/2017 of the Bolesławiec City Council of 24 October 2017 concerning the regulations for maintaining cleanliness and order in the city of Bolesławiec. Failure to comply with this obligation constitutes an offense for which a municipal police officer may impose a fine of up to PLN 500.
The statement adds:
We pay particular attention to the fact that dog waste left on our lawns and in parks poses a real threat, especially to children’s health.
In addition, free dog-waste bags are available at our unit’s headquarters and can be collected during office hours:
- Monday–Friday: 07:30–23:00
- Saturday: 10:00–20:00.
