The incident occurred on December 10, at approximately 5:15 p.m., on Spółdzielcza Street in Jelenia Góra.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 46-year-old Toyota driver struck a 55-year-old woman who was crossing at a pedestrian crossing. The injured woman was taken to hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.
The driver was sober. Investigative activities at the scene were carried out under the supervision of a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra and a road-traffic expert. (The woman’s body was secured for an autopsy).
The vehicle driver was detained in police custody. Police and prosecutors are currently investigating the causes and circumstances of this tragic incident in detail.
