On December 9, the first round of the Champions Tournament, that is, the 2018/2019 edition of the International Bench Press League, took place. Zbigniew Boczar, a resident of Lwówek Śląski and, in everyday life, a soldier of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, won silver while competing in the up-to-83-kg weight category.
Z. Boczar:
The podium finish is pleasing, because two years ago it was third place. Nevertheless, there is a sense of dissatisfaction because I did not manage to improve my personal record.
During the competition, Zbigniew Boczar’s trainee, Przemysław Andrzejczak, made his debut. The artilleryman:
I have known Przemysław Andrzejczak for three months. This short period of cooperation brought progress that made it possible to add 30 kg to the barbell, resulting in a respectable performance—for a debutant. (With 30 competitors in the up-to-83-kg weight category, Przemek finished in the middle of the field).
The example of my current trainee shows that if you demonstrate commitment, working with me can help you make significant progress.
The weightlifter adds:
Thanks for help during the competition are due to Tomasz Andrzejczak, president of Tytan Team, which Przemek and I represented; my colleague Damian Jóźwiak, for the videos of the attempts; CER ART from Bolesławiec; and the Lwówek Śląski Comprehensive Physiotherapy Center—for their help and support.
The greatest thanks, of course, go to my wife, because She supports and motivates me every day to pursue my passion and the lifestyle that is bench press.
