On 26 November, as part of the provincial “Dangerous Promilles” operation, officers from the Traffic Division of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec carried out intensified sobriety checks on drivers. (They also paid attention to compliance with regulations concerning the use of seat belts and safety devices.)

Between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., the officers checked as many as 250 drivers. Only one of them turned out to be drunk. The 27-year-old resident of Wielkopolskie Voivodeship got behind the wheel with 2.3 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.

The man was arrested. He now faces up to two years in prison.
