Bolesławiec criminal investigators, as a result of operational activities, arrested two men who blackmailed a printer and put a counterfeit banknote into circulation.
According to the officers’ findings, the suspects commissioned the printing of banknotes for artistic purposes and later blackmailed the printer. They said that if he did not pay them, they would report to the police that he was counterfeiting money.
Moreover, they used a counterfeit banknote to pay a taxi driver for the ride.
Both blackmail suspects were arrested; they are residents of Bolesławiec, aged 33 and 36. At each suspect’s premises, police officers secured printed banknotes, some of which had already been cut out and were ready for use.
The two scammers now face up to 10 years in prison.
