Nowogrodziec police determined that a 6-metre-long steel pipe had been stolen from a pipeline construction site.
Because of the stolen property’s considerable weight, the police began their work on the case by checking nearby properties. And indeed, in one yard, behind farm buildings, they found the aforementioned pipe. (It had been hidden under blankets and plastic bags).
The police arrested a man suspected of the theft. He is a 26-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec gmina. The man explained that he had borrowed a car from a friend in order to steal the pipe.
It then emerged that the 26-year-old had got behind the wheel despite having as many as NINE active driving bans.
The pipe thief now faces up to five years in prison.
