The incident occurred on Friday, November 23, in the morning, in Ocice (Bolesławiec gmina). The driver of a Citroen, a 19-year-old from Nowogrodziec gmina, lost control of the vehicle on a bend, left the road and hit a tree.
The man was traveling alone and was injured. The unconscious teenager was taken to hospital. It is not yet known how serious his injuries are.
As reported on the website of the Komenda Powiatowa Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu:
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the car had left the road and hit a tree. The force of the impact was so great that the engine was thrown out of the car, and the vehicle’s structure was severely damaged.
An injured driver was inside the car. Firefighters gained access to the casualty using hydraulic equipment, evacuated him from the vehicle, provided first aid and handed him over to the emergency medical team.
Firefighters from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec, volunteer firefighters from Ocice and Nowogrodziec, the police and an emergency medical team took part in the operation, which lasted nearly 1.5 hours.
The police are establishing the causes of the accident.
The roads are slippery and dense fog has set in. Officers appeal for caution. Ease off the gas!
