On Monday, 5 November, the construction site was handed over to Infrakol, the company carrying out the project. The new platform will be available to travellers in the middle of next year.
The new platform No. 6 at Wrocław Gł. station will be 200 metres long. It will be connected by stairs to the main station tunnel (the ticket hall tunnel).
An elevator will make access to the trains easier for travellers with reduced mobility and passengers with heavier luggage.
The platform’s height (76 cm) will make boarding and getting off trains easier. The platform and access routes will be equipped with a tactile signage system. There will also be a monitoring system and new lighting.
Moreover, three platform shelters will be installed. The platform itself will have a public-address system and information boards.
The second route to the platform will lead via stairs from Sucha Street, providing quick access for travellers using city bus services and PKS. (Along with the platform, appropriate works will be carried out on the adjacent track, including the installation of railway traffic safety equipment).
The construction cost is PLN 7.4 million. The project, which is scheduled for completion in the middle of next year, will provide passengers with greater travel comfort.
