On Tuesday, 6 November, the final session of the fifth-term Bolesławiec County Council was held in the conference room of the so-called Rotunda.

Tuesday’s meeting was an opportunity to sum things up and express thanks. The head of the aforementioned body, Ryszard Kawka, summed up the Council’s term (it turned out that only councillor Jadwiga Bobek of Platforma Samorządowa, who took over the seat after the late Dariusz Kwaśniewski, could boast 100% attendance), while Bolesławiec County Starost Karol Stasik summed up the work of the Bolesławiec County Board. The discussion included, among other things, the local government’s successes and investments that had been completed.

“I wanted to thank my colleagues on the Board for their good work and for understanding the essence of working as a group,” said the starost. “Making decisions as a group always requires compromise. We were always able to reach a reasonable compromise.”

K. Stasik also thanked the councillors (“From the perspective of 20 years of experience in local government, this council was very substantive. Concern for the public good was evident. Stories related to personal matters were incidental in nature”) and the officials.

The County authorities also thanked their local-government partners, namely the heads of the municipalities in Bolesławiec County.

That day, Deputy Chair of the County Council Józef Król and unaffiliated councillor Kazimierz Gawron officially said goodbye to local-government work. Meanwhile, Ewa Potyszka of Platforma Samorządowa declared that, despite the voters’ decision, she would do everything possible to continue cooperating with the county’s local government.

It is worth adding that representatives of county education—the head of the Education, Culture and Sport Department at the County Office, Alicja Krzyszczak; the headmistress of the Henryk Sucharski Comprehensive and Vocational Schools Complex, Laura Słocka-Przydróżna; and the head of the First General Secondary School, Cezary Czernatowicz—thanked Starost K. Stasik for making bold decisions.
