Another Boxing Tournament for the Mayor’s Cup was held in Lubań, organized by the Bojan Boks Lubań club. The City of Ceramics’ representatives—boxers from TOP Boks Bolesławiec—could not be absent from the competition.
Our boxers secured three draws:
- Michał Ambroży in the 62 kg division
- Piotr Motyka – 60 kg
- Jakub Kaleta – 90 kg.
“A pleasant touch to the event and a gesture of friendship was the official presentation of a portrait to our coach, Ryszard Tomczyk,” says Tomasz Tomczyk, a coach and, privately, the son of the Madrid European champion. “My father received the painting from Wiesław Bojanowski, the coach of the BOKS Bojan Lubań club.”.
The two men—R. Tomczyk and W. Bojanowski—once represented the colors of the BKS boxing section together.
The TOP Boks Bolesławiec athletes are currently preparing for a tournament marking the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence, which will take place on November 10 in Lubin.
