The incident occurred last week near the PKP railway station in Bolesławiec. Two men were drinking alcohol near the tracks. Suddenly, one of them allegedly announced that he was going to throw himself under a train. The other notified the police.
When the police officers arrived, the caller was still holding on to his drinking companion. The latter, meanwhile, was trying to break free. Interestingly, no train was approaching at the time...
The desperate man was taken to hospital for examinations.
It is difficult to determine unequivocally how real the danger was. All the more so because both men were heavily intoxicated. (Hence the word “allegedly” appears twice in the title.) However, if the would-be suicide really wanted to throw himself under a train, his companion behaved in an exemplary manner.
