In September last year, we reported that a resident of Bolesławiec County had been temporarily detained. The prosecutor’s office brought eight charges against him, including psychological and physical abuse of his family and the sexual abuse of his minor daughters. According to investigators, the man had tormented his relatives since 1990. One of his daughters broke the silence.

The trial began in January. The court closed the proceedings to protect the interests of the victims. At the prosecutor’s request, witnesses testified in the defendant’s absence. Why? The man had threatened family members, saying he would harm them if they testified against him.

The verdict in the case was handed down on Wednesday, April 15. The Bolesławiec court sentenced the man to eight years in prison.

The judgment is not final.
