The incident occurred on Wednesday, 24 October, at around 10:00 a.m., on the A4 motorway near the village of Kierżno (Nowogrodziec municipality). A 45-year-old German national driving a passenger car, trying to avoid a collision with a lorry, swerved to the left and hit a worker who was mowing grass beside the A4—a 52-year-old resident of the City of Ceramics.

A Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter flew to the Bolesławiec resident and took him to a hospital in Nowa Sól.

Fortunately, the man's life is not in danger. (He suffered fractures of the shaft bone and both forearm bones).

Both the passenger-car driver and the lorry driver were sober. The police are investigating the causes of the accident.
