Officers from the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters received a report of a break-in at a commercial stall located in the municipal marketplace. The crime took place during the night of October 17–18. The perpetrators overcame the security measures and stole money. (They presumably expected to find a substantial amount of cash, but found only PLN 5 inside.)
Police quickly identified and detained the perpetrators. They are two residents of Bolesławiec: a 23-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man. Both were charged with burglary.
Moreover, it emerged that the detained 39-year-old had four other offenses on his record. He will also face charges for stealing a backpack containing documents and keys, attempting to commit burglary using the aforementioned keys, and violating a court-ordered driving ban twice.
Both suspects now face up to 10 years in prison.
