Officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, as every year, will conduct intensified “Znicz” operations at the turn of October and November.

How can you avoid being robbed?

Police: “Increased traffic at cemeteries and in their vicinity is already taking place, so we would like to remind you of several important rules to ensure that this time of contemplation and reflection is not disrupted by unpleasant or dangerous incidents:

  • when going to the cemetery, do not take large sums of money with you. You will not need them there, and they may fall prey to pickpockets; take only as much cash as you need to buy candles and wreaths
  • when tidying a grave and the area around it or lighting candles, do not take your eyes off handbags, coats or other valuables
  • when leaving your car in a parking lot, make sure that you have locked it properly (the door locks, trunk and windows). Do not leave valuables in plain sight either
  • when walking to the cemetery, often along a road without a sidewalk, remember to wear the required reflective elements, which will make you visible after dark
  • while at the cemetery, pay attention to people around you who are there without an obvious purpose. If their behavior seems suspicious, inform cemetery staff or the police.
