On Wednesday, October 17, a ceremonial session of the Bolesławiec City Council was held in the Forum hall of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramic Centre.

During Wednesday’s meeting, Mayor Piotr Roman and Council Chairman Jarosław Kowalski presented Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk, a doctor and politician, with a gorget to mark the 50th anniversary of her professional career. (The gorget bore Albert Einstein’s words: “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”)

J. Piestrak-Babijczuk said she was very pleased by how beautifully the City of Ceramics was developing. She added that Bolesławiec needed continued steady development, not a revolution.

During the session, certificates conferring the title “Distinguished for the City of Bolesławiec” were presented to the heads of two associations: Barbara Smoleńska of the Society of Friends of Lviv and the Southeastern Borderlands, and Halina Waniak of the Association of Re-emigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends in Bolesławiec.

Wednesday’s ceremony was also an opportunity for summaries and thanks. J. Kowalski thanked the media, including the istotne.pl portal, for reporting on what took place during the meetings of the City Council in its seventh term.

And how will you remember the councillors from this term? We invite you to join the discussion.
