The accident occurred on Thursday, October 11, at around 10:00 p.m. in Nowogrodziec, from the direction of Zabłocie. As the driver of a Volkswagen Golf, a 60-year-old resident of Lubań County, was overtaking a cyclist—a 62-year-old woman from our county—the latter suddenly turned left.
A collision occurred. The 62-year-old cyclist was seriously injured. She was taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec with a broken arm and a head injury.
The police are investigating the causes of the accident. The Golf driver was sober.
