During the inauguration, Wiesława Olczyk listed a number of initiatives in which UTW students took part in the previous year, and the wealth of senior activities is truly impressive. The students participated in numerous cross-border projects, interesting educational trips presenting the history of the region, tourist and recreational trips, exhibitions, cultural events, performances and competitions.
Wiesława Olczyk thanked the many institutions with which the Bolesławiec University cooperates: the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre, Termy Bolesławiec, Akwapark Orka, the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre, the Ceramics Museum, the “Tulipan” Allotment Gardens and the public library.
President Piotr Roman, who had been invited to the inauguration, joined in the wishes for success.
“The University is a value that we have been creating together for 12 years,” the president said. “The coordinator mentioned a number of institutions here that support and co-create this University. It is a network of connections and joint action for the good of Bolesławiec and, in this case, seniors. Without cooperation, we would have achieved nothing. I wish all the students a wonderful new year at the University of the Third Age,” Piotr Roman concluded his speech.
Bolesławiec County Head Karol Stasik read out a congratulatory letter and also extended his warmest wishes to all the students and lecturers. After the new students took their oath, the 2018/19 academic year was declared open.
The editorial team of the istotne.pl portal, which has cooperated with the University for years, also extends its warmest wishes for a wonderful year of gaining new experiences and new projects carried out as brilliantly as always.
