Bolesławiec criminal investigators identified and detained the perpetrator responsible for damaging five transformers. (The crimes were committed in August and September this year.)
The detainee is a 30-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. In the car belonging to the suspect, police officers found a set of tools that had been used during the crimes.
The 30-year-old damaged the transformers by drilling into the section containing cooling oil and draining the entire contents of the tank. He obtained approximately 100 litres of oil from each transformer in this way, which he later poured… into his car’s fuel tank.
The 30-year-old caused losses exceeding PLN 50,000. He now faces up to eight years in prison.
