The Lubin traffic police, patrolling the city streets at night, noticed around 2:00 a.m. a BMW passenger car driver who was driving as if he were under the influence of alcohol.
The officers decided to stop him for a roadside check. However, despite the clear visual and audible signals given by the officers, he did not stop. On the contrary, he accelerated sharply and began to flee. The police gave chase, joined by officers from the prevention division.
The driver was quickly stopped. As it turned out, the 34-year-old resident of Lubin was completely drunk; he had more than 2.5 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system.
The man lost his driving licence. What is more, he could now face up to five years in prison.
