The night shift of officers from the Legnica traffic police—Senior Sergeant Marcin Weber and Sergeant Wiktor Słomiński—will stay in their memory for a long time. On Jaworzyńska Street in Legnica, the officers were checking the speed of vehicles entering the city from the direction of Jawor. At one point, an Audi passenger car approached at excessive speed.
The officers immediately stopped the vehicle for a traffic check. It turned out that the Audi driver was very nervous because... he was taking his wife to the delivery ward. Several kilometers earlier, the woman’s waters had broken and labor was underway.
The man was afraid they would not make it in time. Every minute counted.
Without a moment’s hesitation, the officers undertook this unusual but urgent escort. They activated their signals and escorted the car carrying the woman in labor to a hospital in Legnica.
The woman reached the delivery room just in time, and some time later a healthy baby girl was born.
