On Tuesday, 4 September, after 9 a.m., officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters stopped a passenger car for inspection. Its driver—a 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County—was speeding through Tomaszów Bolesławiecki (Warta Bolesławiecka commune), in a built-up area, at 108 km/h.

The driver lost his driving licence for three months and was fined PLN 400 and given 10 penalty points.

Police:

We remind you that under the applicable regulations, every road user who exceeds the speed limit in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for three months. (The document is confiscated directly by the police officer conducting the inspection).

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period for which their licence is confiscated will be extended to six months.

They add:

If the situation happens again during that period, the starosta will issue a decision revoking the person’s driving entitlement. This will mean having to retake the driving test.
