Both accidents occurred on August 29. The first took place on Leśna Street in Lubin. While leaving a parking bay and joining the traffic, the driver of a Peugeot passenger car, a 24-year-old resident of Lubin, cut off a motorcyclist riding a Honda, who was overtaking another vehicle at the same time. The Peugeot and the Honda collided. Only the two-wheeler’s rider, a 44-year-old resident of Lubin, was injured. (He was provided with medical assistance.)
The second, more serious accident occurred on the Rudna–Lubin road. A 30-year-old resident of Lubin, riding a Yamaha, veered onto the right side of the road for reasons not yet established, entered a ditch and hit a roadside tree.
The man sustained very serious injuries; he was transported by a Polish Medical Air Rescue helicopter to a hospital in Wrocław.
The police and prosecutor’s office are investigating the causes of both accidents.
