Officers from the Property Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica had been working for some time on a case involving the theft of a car trailer together with an excavator, with a total value of more than PLN 100,000.
While gathering material and evidence, the police determined in which town the stolen property might be located. They then observed the selected property.
When a man appeared there and opened the excavator’s door, the officers took action. The 38-year-old resident of Legnica was detained and taken to police custody.
The man suspected of handling stolen goods faces up to five years in prison. The officers are now determining how the Legnica resident came into possession of the trailer and excavator.
