The incident occurred on 15 August, at around 8:25 a.m., on the road from Jelenia Góra to Karpacz. Driving behind an unmarked police car equipped with a video recorder, the Mazda driver began overtaking at excessive speed, forcing another vehicle off the road. The 36-year-old Mazda driver completed the overtaking manoeuvre on a bend, crossing double solid lines.

What is more, in a place where the speed limit is 90 km/h, the driver was initially travelling at 139 km/h (at that speed, he overtook another car at an intersection), and then accelerated to as much as 179 km/h.

The road pirate was stopped. He received 34 penalty points and lost his driving licence. The case will ultimately be decided in court.
