On Monday, renovation of the railway crossing began in the village of Zebrzydowa. As a result, National Road No. 4 has been closed. We learned from the Railway Lines Facility in Wałbrzych that the renovation of the crossing will be completed this coming Saturday in the afternoon. The road is scheduled to reopen by 30 March, according to information obtained from the Lubań district office of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
During the renovation, traffic from Bolesławiec to Zgorzelec is being diverted through Nowogrodziec. Drivers coming from Bolesławiec must turn left in Zebrzydowa, toward Nowogrodziec. Drivers coming from Zgorzelec are directed to a detour through Lubań and Nowogrodziec (exiting at the roundabout in Jeleniów).
Residents of Wykroty and Godzieszów travel to Bolesławiec via Gierałtów. Drivers complain that the detour road on the Godzieszów–Gierałtów–Nowogrodziec section is in terrible condition. The surface is full of potholes and deep ruts that can damage a car’s suspension. Residents of Nowogrodziec are also affected. Thousands of cars and trucks pass through the town centre. The vehicles are damaging roads that were already in poor condition after the winter drew to a close.
