The duty officer at the Lubin police station received information about a loud argument in one of the apartments on the Polne housing estate. A patrol from the prevention department went to the scene.

At the apartment, officers found an intoxicated 59-year-old man who had been physically and psychologically abusing his wife, as well as psychologically abusing his 12-year-old child. (The violence in this family has been going on for two years.)

The perpetrator smelled of alcohol. A test showed that the aggressor had more than one per mille of alcohol in his system. The man was detained and taken to police custody.

At the officers’ request, the prosecutor placed the 59-year-old under police supervision. The aggressor is also prohibited from contacting the victim and ordered to leave her apartment.

The man could now face up to five years in prison.
